Allegro connection to Microsoft Windows Vista, 7, or 8 (Windows Mobile Device Center)
26 Apr 2010
Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center (replacement of ActiveSync) for Microsoft Windows Vista, 7, or 8 has a minimum system requirement of synchronizing only with devices running Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 or higher. If you would like to meet this requirement, it is recommended to upgrade to our newer Field PC models running Microsoft Windows Mobile.
Otherwise, though synchronization of Microsoft Outlook and other information is no longer supported for previous operating system versions (such as Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2 or less on previous Allegro models (CX, CE, CE/DOS)), a connection providing basic manual file transfer ("Explore") functionality is still provided (which is most often used with previous Allegro models anyway).
A connection to Windows Mobile Device Center in Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit edition using an Allegro CE Field PC model running Microsoft Windows CE 3.0 while in a USB/ Power Dock is shown in the images below.
