Firmware & Operating System Updates for Mesa 4

To get the best performance from your Mesa 4 tablet, keep it up to date with the latest firmware (EC and BIOS) and operating system (OS). To review changes in this release, refer to the release notes.
Update Firmware and OS from Device Settings
If your Mesa 4 has internet access, you can manage update options and check for available updates from the Update screen in Device Settings.
To check for available updates,
- Ensure the Mesa 4 is connected to the internet.
- Attach the Mesa 4 to an external power supply.
- Open Device Settings > Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install any firmware or OS updates. You may be prompted to restart the tablet at the end of the updates.
Update Firmware and OS without an Internet Connection
If the Mesa 4 tablet doesn't have internet access or you need to update the tablet through a custom security system,

Download the following files to Mesa 4.

- Attach the Mesa 4 to an external power supply.
- Run each file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. The system will likely restart during this process.

Special Commands for EC, BIOS, and OS
If needed, the EC, BIOS, and OS updaters support a few command line arguments, as explained below.
BIOS Updater
-passive | Runs silent, skips the user interaction (and warnings). |
-noreboot | Do not automatically reboot the device after the firmware has been programmed. |
EC Updater
-ec | Re-program the firmware even if it is already running the same or newer version. |
-noreboot | Do not automatically reboot the device after the firmware has been programmed. |
-nobuttons | Do not require user to press buttons to continue the update process. |
OS Updater
-passive | Runs silent, skips the user interaction (and warnings). |
-osinstall | Only if using patch as drivers package installer instead. |
