General Troubleshooting for Mesa 3 Android

14 Apr 2021

This article walks through basic troubleshooting for the Mesa 3 Android.

Close Apps

Closing apps that you are not actively using frees up system resources and forces unresponsive apps to close. Find all open apps, as described at the following web page, and then close (or swipe away) apps that you are not actively using.

Reset

If the Mesa 3 tablet is unresponsive, slow, or programs won’t open, performing a reset might solve the issue.

Soft Reset

If the Mesa 3 is completely stuck and won’t respond, press the power key down for 2 to 3 seconds. When the menu appears, select "Power off." To power on the tablet, press the power button.

Ten-Second Shutdown

If the tablet has been unresponsive for at least 5 minutes and did not respond to a soft reset, disconnect the tablet from all external power. Force the hardware to shutdown by holding the power button for 10 seconds. To power on the tablet, press the power button.

Twenty-Second Shutdown

If the tablet did not respond to the 10-second shutdown, disconnect the tablet from all external power. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Release the power button and wait 30 more seconds for the electrical processes in the background to finish. The removable and internal batteries are electronically disconnected from the tablet, causing a complete shutdown. To power on the tablet, connect the tablet to external power and press the power button.

Note: The tablet cannot be powered on again until an external power supply is attached. Keep this in mind if you are in the field.

CAUTION: Forcing a shutdown while the unit is running can potentially cause corruption to storage memory. Never do this to power off a Mesa 3 in normal circumstances.

App Memory Reset

Back up (or save app data), and then clear the cache memory of an app. To clear the cache memory, go to OS Settings > Apps & notifications > All installed apps > select the specific app > Storage & cache > Clear Cache. If needed, you can also select Clear Storage.
