General Troubleshooting for Mesa 3 Android
14 Apr 2021
This article walks through basic troubleshooting for the Mesa 3 Android.
Reset
If the Mesa 3 is unresponsive, slow, or programs won’t launch, performing a reset might solve the issue.
Soft Reset
If the Mesa 3 is completely stuck and won’t respond, hold the power key down for 2 to 3 seconds. When the menu appears, select the "Power off" option.
If that doesn’t work, hold the power key down for 10 seconds. This causes a hardware shutoff. Press the power key again to power it on.
Hard Reset
If 10 seconds doesn’t work, hold the power button down for 20 seconds. Batteries are forced to electrically disconnect from the tablet, causing a complete shutdown. The tablet cannot be powered on again until an external power supply is attached. Keep this in mind if you are in the field.
CAUTION: Forcing a shutdown while the unit is running can potentially cause corruption to storage memory. Never do this to power off a Mesa 3 in normal circumstances.
Factory Reset
To reset the Mesa 3 Android unit to the factory defaults, backup all needed apps and data then go to,
- Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).
- Tap Reset Tablet.
If you have registered the Mesa 3 Android unit with a Google account, the factory reset can also be performed remotely by using Find My Device.
- Select the device.
- Select Erase Device.
- Confirm you want to erase the device.
If the unit is connected to the internet when you remotely erase the device, the device will be set to factory defaults. If the unit is offline, the device will be set to factory defaults as soon as it is connected to the internet.
If needed, a remote service can be enabled on the MS3 Android so you can turn on an automatic backup to Google Drive. To do this, go to Settings > System > Backup on your MS3 Android.
