Depth sounder with the Field PC

Note: This information is provided as a reference and does not imply that Juniper Systems will provide full support for the use of any specific third-party device or software with a Juniper Systems product.
Depth sounders, fish finders, and other similar sonar sensors can potentially be connected to our rugged handheld computer products for performing bathymetric surveys and other underwater profile identification work. Most often this requires that the sensor can output NMEA-0183 data via serial communications, and is input for "off-setting".
Survey-grade application software may provide "range finder" or other sensor input methods that could work with such sensors. This is less common with more basic GIS and waypoint collection software, but some options are available. Information on software applications and other potential methods for connecting such a sensor to our products is provided at the following web links.
