The Mesa Rugged Notepad can be purchased with or sent to a certified repair center to have a Barcode Expansion Pack installed. This pack features a Motorola (Symbol) 2D CCD imager with Class 1 Laser targeting that can read from a vast library of Linear (1D) and 2D barcode symbologies. It is designed to be fully compatible with the scan engine manufacture's software development tools to support existing and new applications, but also comes with its own "wedge" software for basic ASCII text data entry into any app.
