Large data files causing slow downs and lock ups
8 Sep 2011
Mobile (especially handheld) computer devices usually tend to have reduced resources compared to desktop and laptop PCs. Loading a large data (or job) file in a mobile app may cause it to approach the limits of such resources, possibly leading to slow downs and lock ups. Additional related information and references are provided at these web pages.

With mobile devices, it is always best to reduce project files to the lowest data set possible that is needed for each days tasks, and/or only load the data that is needed at the moment.
Examples are as follows:
- It is recommended to keep job files loaded in the Carlson SurvCE software below the following limits.
- 1500 points in CRD
- 2MB DXF linework drawing
- 4MB TIN surface file
