Reset

If the Mesa tablet locks up, you can force it to shut down.

CAUTION: Power the tablet by holding the power button for 10 or 20 seconds as a last resort. Forcing the power off loses unsaved data and may corrupt active data transfer to storage.

Five-Second Shutdown

If the Mesa tablet will not respond and you cannot get to the Start menu, hold the power button for 5 seconds until the message "Slide to shut down your PC" appears. Swipe to the bottom of the screen to power off the tablet. To power on the tablet, press the power button.

Ten-Second Shutdown

If the Mesa tablet has been locked up for at least 5 minutes and did not respond to the 5-second shutdown, disconnect the tablet from all external power, including an AC wall charger, USB-C charger, or a dock. Force the hardware to shut down by holding the power button for 10 seconds. To power on the tablet, press the power button.

Twenty-Second Shutdown

If the Mesa tablet has been locked up for at least 5 minutes and did not respond to the 10-second shutdown, disconnect the tablet from all external power, including an AC wall charger, a USB-C charger, or a dock. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Release the power button and wait 30 more seconds for the electrical processes in the background to finish. The removable and internal batteries are electronically disconnected from the tablet, causing a complete shutdown. To power on the tablet and connect the batteries, plug in the tablet with the AC wall charger or a USB-C charger and press the power button.
