Bluetooth device will not re-connect

8 Jan 2010

Make sure you are waiting at least 10 seconds after turning the Archer on before trying to re-connect to a device that has Bluetooth wireless technology. This provides time for the Bluetooth drivers to reload. For more information, please visit our Bluetooth Connection issues website at:

Common connection issues with Bluetooth

When connecting a Bluetooth device using the Microsoft drivers, make sure you have the "Secure Connection" checkbox UNCHECKED when creating a new Outgoing Port as explained in the Bluetooth Setup instructions available on our website at:

Bluetooth Setup with Microsoft drivers

If you have already created an Outgoing Port (such as for connecting to a GPS receiver), you can edit the existing port by following these steps:

  1. Tap on Start > Settings > Connections tab > Bluetooth icon > COM Ports tab.
  2. Tap and hold the stylus on the name of the existing Outgoing Port (i.e.- "Garmin GPS 10 (COM5)") and then select Edit.
  3. Uncheck the "Secure Connection" checkbox, and then tap Finish
