Preventing missing C_Drive issue

October 10, 2004 Article #1263

The most common cause of a missing NK.bin file, missing C_Drive, or application/operation not responding is not having enough power to load the operating system when the Allegro is turned on. This could be a result of leaving the Allegro over a period of a week or more without plugging it into an external charger.

The most common cause of a missing NK.bin file, missing C_Drive, or application/operation not responding is not having enough power to load the operating system when the Allegro is turned on. This could be a result of leaving the Allegro over a period of a week or more without plugging it into an external charger.

The preventative measure we recommend is leaving your Allegro plugged into the AC wall charger that was shipped with your unit whenever you are not using it, or placing the unit into the USB/Power Dock.

Leaving your Allegro plugged in when it is not in use prevents the following situations:

  • Missing NK.bin file
  • Missing C_Drive
  • Battery damage from complete battery charge depletion
  • Lost data if stored over a few weeks and the Save System utility is not performed
  • Operating system reloading due to battery power depletion
  • Battery power gauge resetting
