Startup Settings

To configure the startup settings for RFID Connector, select your desired functionality from the Home screen. 

 

Option Description
Startup RFID Connector on bootup When this option is checked the RFID Connector app will automatically open when you log in.
Start RFID Connector Minimized When this option is checked the RFID Connector app will automatically open and minimize when you log in. The assigned hardware key and keyboard wedge function will still work while the utility is minimized.

Scan Test

To verify that the RFID module is scanning correctly, select Scan from the Home screen and point your barcode reader at a barcode. Adjust any settings in the app as needed.

RFID Connector Information

Various information about RFID Connector is displayed, including version, serial number, and other important details.

User

Scan Time and Power

To set your preferred scanning time and power level, make adjustments from the User screen. 

Option Description
Scan Time This determines how long the RFID module will try to read a tag.
Power Level This determines the amount of power the RFID module uses. The higher the power level is set, the more range you will have. Use a lower power setting when you don't need as much range or when you are trying to read tags that are closer to the scanner if there are lots of tags in the area.

Scan Button

To choose your preferred scan button, make your selection from the User screen. 

Use the drop-down menu to assign a hardware key for the scan action. You can choose any of the Mesa 3 hardware keys. Once scan button is selected here, press the key to start scanning for tags.

Sounds

Turn on/off sounds from the User screen. 

Option Description
Beep on good read When enabled, a beep will sound if the RFID module successfully reads a tag.
Beep on bad read When enabled, a beep will sound if the RFID module has not read an RFID tag when the scan time expires.

Data Format

To append a character to the beginning of the scanned information or a character or two following the scanned information, use the options in the Data Format screen.
