Firmware Updates for Mesa 4

Firmware updates for the BIOS (UEFI) and EC (Embedded Controller) are available for Mesa 4. For detailed information about the changes, review the release notes

To install the firmware,

  1. Attach external power supply.
  2. Connect to internet (if not already).
  3. Open Device Settings > Update, and select Check for updates.
  4. Select to install firmware updates. System will likely restart during process.

If you need to install offline or through custom system security,

  1. Download the following files to the Mesa 4.
  2. Attach external power supply.
  3. Run each file.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions. System will likely restart during process.

Special Commands

If needed, the firmware updaters support a few command line arguments as follows.

For the BIOS Updater:

-passive Runs silent, skips the user interaction (and warnings).
-noreboot Do not automatically reboot the device after the firmware has been programmed.

 

For the EC Updater:

 -ec Re-program the firmware even if it is already running the same or newer version.
-noreboot Do not automatically reboot the device after the firmware has been programmed.
-nobuttons Do not require user to press buttons to continue the update process.
